White ash shop counter

Made entirely from white ash, this free-standing shop counter was the first commercial commission. The frame is joined with mortice and tenon joints, the sides from framed slats. Underneath, shelves deep enough for the florist to keep A2-sized sheets of paper for wrapping bouquets, and drawers for tools and sundries.

Chestnut Inlay Side Table

The top of this side table is made from a single cross-section of chestnut that has become spalted. Finished with a high-gloss resin, the heartwood void was filled with several packs of colouring pencils, cut to size and also glossed. The base is a simple white ash, styled to be practical and unobtrusive.
